I work as an integrative therapist, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and adapt my work to the individual needs of each person.
My practice is grounded primarily in person-centred therapy while also being informed by trauma-aware and evidence-based psychological approaches. I also incorporate practical skills from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) where helpful, particularly for supporting clients with emotional regulation, anxiety, and unhelpful thinking patterns.
This allows therapy to be flexible and responsive to the particular difficulties you may be experiencing.
I aim to help clients develop greater insight into their thoughts, feelings and patterns of behaviour so that they can begin to make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives.
Clients often tell me they appreciate my down-to-earth and approachable style, which allows them to speak openly without feeling judged or analysed. My aim is to create a space that feels calm, thoughtful and collaborative.
Alongside private practice, I have experience working within specialist therapeutic services supporting individuals facing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
My work has included supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma and periods of significant life change. I also have experience working with individuals affected by addiction and recovery, both personally and within families.
I have also worked with clients through employee assistance programmes, providing therapeutic support for individuals navigating personal challenges, workplace stress and life transitions.
This range of experience has given me insight into the many different reasons people seek therapy and the courage it can take to begin that process.
Many clients seek a therapist who is experienced, thoughtful and able to work with complex emotional difficulties. My aim is to provide a calm and reflective space where those experiences can be explored safely.
